Maintenance & Care

Mattresses, like any other item, do require some maintenance and care.  In addition, Ortho recommends the following in order to maximize the lifespan of your mattress and to ensure that warranty guidelines are maintained.

-Keep your mattress clean.  We suggest using a mattress pad or mattress protector, preferably one with a 10-year guarantee, to protect your mattress from all forms of moisture.  If a mattress is soiled or stained in anyway, the warranty and comfort exchange policy is voided.  A mattress protector is your best defense to keep your mattress sanitary and clean.

-It's advisable to rotate your mattress, end to end, frequently in the first 3 months of use in order to equalize the natural body impressions on the mattress surface.

-When buying a new mattress, it is always recommended to buy the set, which includes a box spring or foundation.  Using an old box spring or foundation on a new mattress can affect the support and comfort of the new mattress.

-Do not bend or fold the mattress.  Do not stand the mattress up against a wall or any other support unit.  If a mattress must be stored for any length of time, it's recommended to lay it flat when possible. Icon-maintenance
